Retrieving your UDID

In order to distribute applications for iPhone/iPod touch in an ad-hoc fashion, each device must be registered as part of the signing certificate which encrypts the application. Each device has a unique identifier hash which is 40 characters long that is used to register the device for distribution. Follow the instructions below to obtain your UDID:

  1. Start iTunes and browse to the summary screen for your device:
  2. Click on Serial Number:. This will change to Identifier:.
  3. Press Cmd+C on Mac (Ctrl+C on Windows) to copy the identifier to the clipboard and send it to Evan Patton.
